Bringing Your Puppy Home – Care Guide:

Feeding

We recommend Life’s Abundance  Dog Food. It is important to make sure your new puppy has food available at ALL TIMES. One of the biggest concerns with Yorkshire Terriers is them developing Hypoglycemia ( Low Blood Sugar)We recommend the puppy have Life’s Abundance “ ALL Stages” out at all times where the puppy has free access to it. Also recommend feeding Life’s  Abundance Pork and Venison Canned Dog Food twice a day.

Fresh Water should be available at all times.

We DO NOT Recommend Table Food at any time.

Please avoid Raw Hide at all times. Life’s Abundance offers health and tasty treats as well as supplements for your new Yorkie. Please take a minute and look at what is available.

Vaccination & Vet Visits:

Your puppy comes with the first two sets of vaccines. Continue the vaccination schedule with your vet 14-16 weeks for boosters). Schedule a vet check-up within 3 days of bringing your puppy home.

House Training:

Start potty training immediately. Be consistent with taking the puppy out first thing in the morning, after meals, and before bed. Positive reinforcement (treats and praise) works best.

Crate Training:

Use a properly sized crate to help with house training and to give your puppy a safe space. Make the crate comfy with a bed and toys. Never use the crate as punishment.

Socialization & Training:

Introduce your puppy to new people, places, and gentle dogs once they’ve had vaccinations. Puppy classes can be a great way to socialize and start basic obedience.

Grooming

Brush your Yorkies coat a few times a week to prevent mats. Start nail trimming and teeth brushing early so they get used to it.
